Recording a routine

What to say.

Talk the way you would standing next to a new coworker: when this is done, what to watch out for, the steps in order, how you know it's done right. Names of things the way you say them at work. A minute or two is plenty; a long recording is fine too, under a few minutes.

Talking or typing.

Press "Record" and talk, or type in the box. Both give the same result. You can clean up the text before pressing "Build the routine".

Which language you speak.

Pick it above the box. You can describe a job in any of the ten listed languages; the routine is then translated into your crew's languages.

What Tiendo does with it.

It structures what you said — when it applies, safety, steps, checkpoints — and nothing more. It never adds steps, figures or rules you didn't say. If a part is empty, it's because you didn't mention it. Add it and build again.

The one question after building.

When something you said was unclear or incomplete, the built routine ends with one question under "One question:" — for example which of two chemicals you meant, or how long something sits. It is a question, not an added step: nothing goes into the routine until you answer it. Add the answer to your walkthrough and press "Build the routine" again, or move on if the routine is right as it is.

The microphone doesn't start.

The browser needs permission for this site. On iPhone: Settings → Safari → Microphone. On Android: the lock icon in the address bar → Permissions. If recording isn't supported in your browser, type instead — same result.

"Couldn't transcribe."

Try again, or type it. Recordings over a few minutes are too large; split the job in two.
