More than faster onboarding

What you're really building

Getting a new hire productive on day one is the obvious win. The quieter ones are what separate a business that runs from one that runs you.

🌴

The place runs when you're not there

When close only lives in your head, you're the bottleneck — and the phone rings on your one day off. Written down and readable, it gets done right whether you're standing there or not.

⏱️

Stop pulling your best people off the floor

Your shift lead shouldn't burn an hour walking through close every time somebody new starts. Say it once; they pick it up on their phone, in the language they read.

🎯

Friday night shouldn't depend on who started this week

Everybody learns it the same way, so the guest gets the same plate and the customer gets the same finish — whoever's working. That's what shows up in your reviews.

🤝

Nobody feels lost on day one

Nobody new says “I didn't catch that” in the middle of a rush — they guess, and you eat the comp or the comeback. When they can pull it up in their own language and check it again, they guess less.

🙋

Your best people stop dreading it

Trailing the new hire lands on your best server or your lead tech — on top of their own section or their own RO. Hand them a plan instead of the whole job and it stops being a punishment for being good.

👍

Say yes to the extra pair of hands

Plenty of owners pass on a good walk-in application or a seasonal hire because nobody has time to trail them. When the plan is already built, taking someone on stops being a two-week hit to the crew.

📋

Hand your trainer a real plan

Whoever runs the trail shifts gets a plan you approved — day one, week one, week two — so the new hire gets the same thing whether they trail Maria or Danny. A real two-week plan makes a five-person shop look like a company with an HR department.

🗣️

You don't have to write it in English

Plenty of owners run a great business without wanting to write formal procedures in English. Say it out loud in your own language — Spanish, Arabic, Korean, Vietnamese — and it comes back clean in English and in whatever your crew reads.

Look like the operation you are

A crew that knows the steps, chemicals handled right, a real plan for new hires — your people notice, the health inspector notices, and the customer sees it in the work. That's branding too.

🧰

The work you never get to

Nobody has time to write up procedures, translate the safety parts, or build a training plan. Two minutes of talking gets you all three — the back office you can't afford to hire.

The math nobody puts on the P&L

What the learning curve actually costs you

Turnover is a fact of this business. What it costs you isn't fixed — most of the bill comes from the weeks a new person is still learning, and the mistakes made while they do.

How it works

Talk it once. Your whole team gets it.

No courses to build, no instructional design, nothing for your staff to install. Tiendo walks you through setup like a colleague would — it suggests what a place like yours usually needs, asks the right questions, and shapes your answers into routines in your own words.

1

Talk it in

Pick your trade and Tiendo suggests where to start, then takes one routine at a time. Walk through the job out loud — messy and natural is fine, like showing a new coworker. It asks a follow-up if something obvious is missing, and keeps your wording.

2

Get a clear routine

It comes back as tidy steps, safety notes and checkpoints — then translates into your team's language, every number and temperature exact. Add a photo to any step: seeing the right result beats reading about it.

3

Your team reads & confirms

Post a QR code at the station or hand a new hire one link. They read it on their phone, in their language, check back anytime, and tap “read and understood.”

And it keeps working after week one

Onboarding is the obvious one. The use that saves you most is the Tuesday somebody calls out and whoever's covering has never worked that station or that bay. They scan the code on the wall, pick their language once, get the safety points first, then go one step at a time — and can ask it a question instead of chasing down a manager who's already slammed.

Built for high-turnover teams

If your crew changes often and doesn't all speak one language

Tiendo fits any frontline team where new people arrive constantly and the work has to be done right and safely every time.

🍽️

Restaurants & cafés

BOH and FOH who don't all read English — food safety, close, prep, stations — without trailing somebody through the same thing every week.

🧽

Cleaning companies

Crews turn over and speak different languages. Get every new cleaner running the account to standard — chemicals included — from their first shift.

🚗

Car wash & detailing

Same finish every car, whoever's on the tunnel or doing the recon — because every new hire follows the same process, in the language they think in.

🔧

Auto repair shops

Write-up, lift points, shop standards — taught once and understood by every new tech, on their phone in the bay. Fewer comebacks.

Questions

Straight answers

What is Tiendo?
Tiendo is training and onboarding software for small businesses with frontline staff. You describe a job out loud, and it becomes a structured routine — steps, safety notes and checkpoints — translated into the languages your team reads. Staff open it by scanning a QR code, with no app and no account, and confirm they've read and understood it.
How much does Tiendo cost?
There's a free plan for one location and one routine, in every language your crew reads. Paid plans start at $39/month for a single location with unlimited routines and languages, plus $25/month for each extra location. Yearly billing works out to two months free. No sales call — you sign up with a card.
How do I train employees who don't speak English?
Give them the same instructions in the language they actually read. With Tiendo you describe the job once — in whatever language you think in — and it produces the routine in English plus every language your crew needs, keeping numbers, times and temperatures exact so nothing safety-critical shifts in translation.
Do my staff need to download an app or create an account?
No. They scan a QR code with their phone camera or open a link. There's nothing to install, no login and no password. That's deliberate — frontline workers won't install software to read a work instruction.
What's the difference between Tiendo and a training platform like an LMS?
Traditional training platforms are built for companies with a training department: you build courses, and you buy through a sales process. Tiendo is self-serve and built for the small operator — you talk a routine in and it's usable in about two minutes, with no course building and no demo call.
Can Tiendo help with health inspections or safety compliance?
It gives you a dated record that an instruction was delivered in the worker's language and that they confirmed they read and understood it, which is useful documentation. It is not a certification of competency and does not guarantee any regulatory or inspection outcome. Safety-critical routines should always be reviewed by you before you rely on them.
What kinds of businesses is it for?
Any frontline team with high turnover and more than one language spoken — restaurants and cafés, cleaning companies, car washes and detailing, auto repair shops, and similar operations. It works the same way in each; only the starting routines differ.
How long does it take to set up?
About two minutes for the first routine. Tiendo also suggests the routines a business like yours usually needs — closing, chemical handling, intake, allergen handling — so you're not staring at a blank page deciding what to write.
Is this only for new hires?
No. New-hire onboarding is one use — you assign a plan of routines by day one, week one and week two, and hand your trainer an approved plan to teach from. The other use is everyday: a QR code at the station that anyone can scan mid-shift when they're covering a job they don't normally do. They pick their language once, see the safety points first, and step through it one step at a time.
Can staff ask questions about a routine?
Yes. From any routine a worker can ask a question in their own language and get an answer drawn only from that routine — useful mid-shift when someone unfamiliar with a station needs a specific detail without interrupting a busy manager.
