Job safety analysis — talk the job through, print the sheet
A JSA is the job broken into steps, with what can go wrong at each one and what prevents it. Describe the job the way you would to the crew; the sheet comes back in three columns, in English and Spanish, ready to print and sign. Hazards and controls come only from what you said — nothing is added.
In short: Talk or type the job. Get a Letter sheet: task, location, date, PPE, then step / hazard / control, then a signature block for the crew. Switch to Spanish, print, or email yourself the PDF. Every line stays editable before you print.

Crew signatures — I have read and understood this analysis
Hazards and controls come only from what was described. Check it against your site before relying on it. Not a certification.Made with Tiendo · ¡ tiendo.co
A signed sheet says the talk happened. It doesn't say each person understood it.Tiendo puts the same analysis on each worker's phone, in their language, and records who confirmed it.
Questions operators ask
What is a job safety analysis?
A document that breaks a task into steps and, for each step, identifies the hazard and the control that prevents it. It's prepared before work, reviewed with the crew, and kept as a record.
What's the difference between a JSA and a pre-task plan?
Essentially none. A pre-task plan is a JSA done for a specific job, often daily, and the name varies by company and region. Same three columns.
Is a JSA required by OSHA?
OSHA encourages job hazard analysis and requires hazard assessment in some contexts, but what applies depends on your work and state. A JSA is good practice regardless; check what your situation requires.
How do I write a JSA for a crew that speaks Spanish?
Write or record it once, then deliver it in Spanish with the same steps, hazards and controls. A signature on an English form from someone who reads Spanish is not evidence the hazards were communicated.
Is there a free JSA template?
Yes — the three-column structure on this page is free to use, and the generator below produces a filled one from a spoken description.
Deliver it to your crew in their language.
The same analysis on their phones, with a "read and understood" back from each of them.
